So I mentioned how much fun I’ve been having while couponing lately. Well, it was another late night yesterday. Er… I should say, “early morning.” Maybe, if Olivia didn’t go to bed at 10:30, and Josh didn’t insist on watching M*A*S*H until 11:30, and then the dishes didn’t have to be done… maybe then I’d be able to coupon before midnight! But, alas, this is our schedule.
After perusing some couponing forums, I found that Walgreens was having an amazing sale on Procter & Gamble products (Gillette, Pantene Pro-V, Herbal Essance, Crest, etc). For every $20 order of participating items, Walgreens would give you $10 back! And then after comparing the sales with my coupons, I realized that most of my good coupons would expire July 31… that’s today! So I organized everything into five amazing transactions:
Order 1:
1 Aussie shampoo @ 3.33
1 Aussie conditioner @ 3.33
1 Pantene Pro-V shampoo (25.4 fl oz!) @ 6.00
1 Pantene Pro-V conditioner @ 6.00
Total before coupons and taxes: 25.32
Subtract 15.33 in coupons: 9.99
Subtract the $10 Walgreens gave for me to use on my next order: -0.01
Order 2:
Gillette Sensor3 4-pack razors @ 5.99
Venus 3-pack razors @ 5.99
Venus 3-pack razors @5.99
Herbal Essence hair spray @3.34
Total: 21.30
Subtract 8.00 in coupons: 13.30
Subtract the $10 Walgreens gave for me to use on my next order: 3.30
Order 3:
Olay body wash (23.6 oz!) @ 5.99
Olay body wash (23.6 oz!) @ 5.99
Olay body wash (23.6 oz!) @ 5.99
Crest Toothepaste (6.4 oz) @ 2.39
Olay Ribbons body wash (10 oz) @ 4.99
Total: 25.35
Subtract 11.74 in coupons: 13.61
Subtract the $10 Walgreens gave for me to use on my next order: 3.61
Order 4:
Venus 3-pack razors @ 5.99
Venus 3-pack razors @ 5.99
Gillette deodorant @ 3.34
Infusium 23 shampoo @ 6.00
Vicks hand sanitizer@ 3.49
Total: 24.81
Subtract 11.99 in coupons: 12.83
Subtract 3.49 in mail-in-rebate: 9.33
Subtract the $10 Walgreens gave for me to use on my next order: -0.67
Order 5:
Secret deodorant @ 3.34
Old Spice Red Zone deodorant @ 3.33
Pantene Pro-V shampoo @ 6.00
Pantene Pro-V conditioner @6.00
Gillette Fusion shave gel @1.99
Total: 20.66
Subtract 6.00 in coupons: 14.66
Subtract the $10 Walgreens gave for me to use on my next order: 4.66
Total worth of all orders: 117.44
Total Spent: 10.89
And I used my Walgreens gift card which contained the money I got back from last month’s mail-in-rebates, so total spent out of my own pocket:
A big fat nothing!

I’m running out of storage space!
Way to go Beth! Sigh. They don’t really use coupons here. 🙁 Ah well.
You shouldn’t be robbing stores, Beth. That’s not very Christian.
😉
WOW! That’s amazing! We have found several good deals like that at CVS, but never all at the same time! There’s some good stuff to be had! (We actually just donated some of the stuff we got because it was free or less to Anna’s parents mission work since we will not use it before expiration.)
Oh, that’s a good idea, Frankie! What are some good missions organizations I could donate to? Or maybe my friends in the DR would like some? Or an Old Roomie in China?
OKay, my only question is: you actually “spent” 20.89 and went home with a $10 oyno, right? Because your first transaction you have to purchase first before you get a $10 coupon, no?? Correct me if I am wrong I just am trying to do the math with you and it doesn’t add up.
Yep, that’s right, Stacey. I had to invest that $10 into my first transaction, but I left the store with a $10 oyno coupon.
I had to make sure I came back and spent that $10 before it expired, too. That’s the tricky part. I don’t remember, as this was a few months ago, but I’m sure I tried to spend it on either sale items, or something else that would generate more “$ onyo”.
Did I explain it okay?
Yes! Perfect, thank you. I just wanted to clarify for myself to be sure there wasn’t something I was missing!!!
I love your site – I will be back frequently!!!!
