Well, Olivia’s birthday came and went recently, and with it, her second annual haircut.
The room was really more crowded that this picture shows. Along with mommy, daddy, Benjamin, [second?] cousin Evie, [second?] cousin Hope, [great?] Aunt Martha (the stylist), and Aunt Shannie, there was Gammy and Great Grandma Shuman. And possibly more.
Though the excitement (and the scissors, and the weird blue backwards cape-thing) scared her quite a bit, there was a Taco Bell Chihuahua dog to comfort her.
Hope was a great help, too.
But the best comfort of all to a toddler getting a hair cut? Scroll back up to the first picture. See the red bag in my hands? Those are Marshmallow Mateys. I highly recommend you bring a bag of those to the salon. Even if your toddler doesn’t come.
Because as soon as I started handing them out (the marshmallows, that is; she would have nothing to do with the puffs of grain), she morphed into this:
Look how calm, how obedient, how grown-up she looks!
Does hair grow faster in the third year of life? Will we have to increase our salon visits? Once a year was really working well for us.
Just to reminisce, let’s look at the very first haircut, shall we?
Wow.
Oh my goodness – is that Hope, the little darling who was the flower girl at your wedding????
My how Olivia has grown!! 🙂
I can’t believe Olivia is two; and that I’ve only seen her once. which was a year ago… 🙁 come visit will you? or maybe it’s my turn…
