I know, it’s been while. I never promised I’d post these regularly. In fact, I promised that I wouldn’t. As unpredictable as life with a toddler and a baby is, I can at least predict that I won’t be predictable!
The next What I Believe post is a subject that hits close to home with me: The Over-Medicating of Our Children. It will be posted this coming Thursday.
So that’s a good six days to prepare your own What I Believe post.
What do you feel strongly about? Here’s your chance to verbalize your beliefs, and to stretch your mind as you read about others’ beliefs.
Drawing a blank? Here are some ideas to get you started: Why do you go to church? Why don’t you? How do you raise your children? Why? Do you spank? Why not? Are you Republican? Why? Do you want a woman for president? (Doesn’t have to be Hilary). Why or why not?
I’m making the rules up as I go here, and so far, I just have this one:
- Family friendly. That includes language.
So here’s what you do:
- You write your post.
- You leave a comment on my What I Believe (WIB) post this Friday (not just any WIB post). You leave a link to your WIB post (not your blog in general. Right-clicking on either the time-stamp or the title of the post and selecting “copy link location” will give you the link) on your comment.
- Also leave a nice little blurb about what your WIB post is about.
- You link back to me in your WIB post so that your readers can enjoy the plethera of responses I’m bound to receive.
- Oh, and go ahead and use my brilliantly designed scrolly icon on your post as well. It will make it seem so much more official. Right click on it, select “copy image location”, go to your post, insert image by URL, and paste that URL right then and there.
Ohhh Maaaan! I just wrote a big, honker post this week that would have worked perfectly as an “I Believe” post. Nuts. I guess I’ll just have to make my last 3 brain cells work a little harder and try and come up with something else profound. I don’t have many profound moments these days, so this will be a stretch!
I guess I’ll be researching this week!!! Thanks for the advanced warning.
Hmm, what I believe…I had a post swirling about in my head about hospital births and why I love them. Mind you, this was all formulating BEFORE the birth I had just this week! I had a feeling I shouldn’t write out my what I believe post just yet on the subject until I experienced my 3rd birth. Sure enough, it changed a lot of my views. I still may write it though, or maybe one about how beliefs can change. I have to tell you yours is the most thought provoking blog that I read. I am so glad you are blogging!
Michelle – I read your honker post; it was good! Don’t over-fry your last 3 brain cells just for me. 🙂 Although I hope inspiration hits – I’d love to hear more about what you believe!
Jes – You make me feel like a teacher. “And have it on my desk by 8 a.m. Thursday morning or it’s detention!” Hehe.
Bobi (Western) – You know, if you’re a little tired, I’ll understand your absence from this week’s edition. 🙂 I can’t believe you’re up to writing anything coherent! But eventually I’d love to hear how your views have changed since having your third baby. (Everyone else, go see pictures of her adorable baby boy!)
Yay! I’ve been waiting for this. Are we limited to one topic per session?
Mrs. B. – I won’t limit you, but my frame of mind is this: Why write two posts in one? Save the second topic for the next one; less work! 🙂
Of course, if you have managed to actually be responsible with your free time and are on the computer because you are done with all your other work instead of avoiding it (cough) then you don’t really have to worry about lessening your work load, do you?
Go ahead and write to your heart’s content. But I will only be addressing one topic every time. 😉
i just came to your blog via nell at casual friday (even though i have you on my blogroll but for some reason never get over here) and i LOVE this idea for a post. i’d love to get in on this the next time you do it. will be watching your blog for an update. 🙂
