I live in an apartment. I have limited space. Especially in the kitchen.
I sell Pampered Chef. I have A LOT of kitchen equipment. Especially in the pot-and-pan department.
I needed more room.
So off I went to Lowes to see what they could offer me. After meandering around the store, a kindly associate directed me towards the only pot-and-pan rack they offered:
And… no. I do not have that kind of room in my kitchen (Do you know how many times I would hit my head on that thing?). I do not have that kind of money in my wallet ($148 DOLLARS. Does it come with the cookware? Because if it comes with the cookware that might be a good deal. Oh. No? Then I’ll pass.).
I share my disappointment with my husband. He then proceeds to transform into Fix-It Man (My hero! *swoon*) and off he goes to save the day.
He came back with maybe $5 in materials: A 2×1 inch board (um… 5 or .. 7 feet long?) and a little box of hooks.
Tada!
And if Olivia looks a little young in this picture, that would be because I took it … last January. Yep, and just now blogging about it. I’m on top of things!

I think I’m gonna copy that idea. I love it!
I love it! I know i’ve seen it before but i forgot. We don’t even have the space in my kitchen to do that, my pots and pans are stored in my oven.
It took me a while to get used to having to take everything out of the oven before I preheated it. (you don’t know how many times I burnt my hand thinking th plastic handles on the pots and pans wouldn’t be hot….)
It’s amazing to me how big Olivia is, and how much hair she has in that picture when I compare her to Lexi (who is now fitting in that shirt)
Look at all that cabinet space….
Jes – Okay, so we *do* have some cabinet space. But three out of the four cabinets facing the camera are our “pantry”. The two over the sink hold medine (did you know you’re not supposed to store medicine in the bathroom?) and cookbooks. The two beneath the sink are for cleaners. And the drawer under the stove is unusable.
But I know – it could be worse. I could have your apartment! 😛
Great idea. BTW, your kitchen floor is very clean. Would you hop on over to my site and give me skinny. Ours always looks dirty no matter how much I mop.
my mom loved the pot rack idea, so she took an old bicycle basket from way back when it was huge about a foot and a bit by two feet and a bit, spray painted, put some cute plants in it,and added s hooks for her pots…..she found the basket for pennies at an auction, paint she had, plants she had, s hooks she had to buy
Great Idea!!! I used to sell Pampered Chef and, like you have a ton of pots and pans. Now if only I had a place like you do to hang them up like that… I could have my cupboard back! 🙂
Great space saving idea.
