After reading the specials for the week, I turned to Josh and asked if he’d like free chocolate. I don’t think he’s ever been more excited about my CVS shopping than he was at that moment.
Sorry for posting this so late in the week. Hopefully you still have time to go out and get yourself (and your hubbies) some free chocolate before the sales end Saturday night (at 11:59 pm).
Poland Springs (Or Ice Mountain, as was the case at my CVS – Did Ice Mountain buy Poland Springs?) Aquapod 8pk – $2.50 x 2 = $5.00
Dove or M&M candy – $2.50 x 2 = $5.00
Cover Girl Foundation – $5.49
Cover Girl Powder – $7.99
Fruit2o – $1.09 x 6 = $6.54 (My CVS only had three left, so I asked the cashier if I could pay for those three and pick up my free three later. She said yes and gave me a rain check. I like her.)
$29.93 total value
Cover Girl and Fruit2O are on sale Buy One Get One Free. Subtract $5.49 for the foundation and $3.18 for the Fruit2O.
New total: $21.26
Coupons: $1/2 Poland Spring printables, $1/2 Fruit2O coupons from the CVS diabetes booklet (three of those!), $4/20, $2/10, B1G1 Free Covergirl Coupon (from the Sunday paper) – I assumed they would take the $7.99 powder off because they had already taken the $5.49 foundation off. I was wrong. They took the foundation off twice. Which left my total $2.50 higher than I had expected. I will be exchanging the powder for a cheaper variety (still Cover Girl, so completely legal) when I go back on Monday.
New total: $5.77 after coupons, which I paid in ECBs
I got 4.00 back in ECB – $2 for the water and $2 for the chocolate.
So I figuratively spent $1.77 (Even though none was cash out of pocket.)
When I exchange the powder, I will get back, hopefully, around $2.50.
When all is said and done, I will have made $0.73 – which most likely went towards the tax. So, I came out even!
Way to go!
And yes, I love it when CVS pays off with free chocolate! Makes all that ECB rolling every bit worth it!
You did great! I love free chocolate and free makeup!
after reading your blog i signed up at cvs and it is now my fave spot. thanks for saving me money and filling my makeup drawers.
I so wish we had a CVS here. *sigh* Do you happen to know if Walgreens will do B1G1 coupons on top of a B1G1 sale?
Way to go! I passed on the chocolate because I would eat it all myself and I can not do that!!! But I kinda wish I had gotten it anyway – hmmmm. oh well. So enjoy your chocolate – and the savings!!
