The downside is…
That they made me go to the new cashier. So I could “train” her. Yep. We were there for an hour. And I’m sure the veteran cashier who sent me there was snickering at us. While in the back. Drinking a Coke. On break.

(So I fibbed. It wasn’t $20. And if you count tax it was even less. But, then I ran to Walgreen’s, grabbed 2 bottles of Clean Care contact solution and 2 Easy Saver books. I tore the $2/1 coupons from each book and used them in two separate transactions with two separate receipts. I will be mailing in those receipts with two MIRs and then in turn receiving the full price for both bottles, in the process MAKING $4. So there. I bet I made OVER $20.)
You are too funny! I wish I had the motivation to do all that… we just don’t use any of those products. What DO you do with all of those products? I am very impressed… seriously, I don’t think I could ever do that!
Where is the traditional photo of said booty?
I want a photo of the booty!
BTW, soap is not used for the skin. It’s for disciplining foul mouthed children.
Duh.
Apparently one needs a degree in rocket science to do all of this. I understand it to a point and then…uh…..uh….nothin’. I’m a hands-on learner.
I think you need to re-enact your whole transaction while video taping just so I can understand what the heck it is that you’re doing!
Maybe you don’t need to be a rocket-scientist to figure this out, like Michelle said, just the wife of one 😉
Awesome!
I love the “So I could “train” her. ” comment!!!!!!!
HAHAHA
Thats to funny!
I have had that happen a few times. But hey! Its FUN!
hehe
I think I understand the other abbreviations but what does CRT stand for?
Deann – sorry, I explained that once and have neglected to ever since. CRTs are the coupons the print at the bottom of your receipt at CVS. (But they are not Extra Care Bucks). I’m not entirely sure what CRT stands for, but I assume it’s something like Cash Register Tape since it comes on receipt paper.
I didn’t know you could use the 5/$25, 4/$20, and 2/$10 coupons all at one time! I’m going to have to try that at my CVS. Thanks!!
You make the art of couponing look like a lot of fun…at least you write well. Keep up the good work!
blessings!
Thanks for posting this!!
We used this post as inspiration for how to conduct our most recent CVS deal (our second transaction with them ever). I put a post up about it on my blog today. I thought you might be interested in reading how it came out highly in our favor. I credited you on that entry.
I hadn’t realized until reading your post that you could stack the 5/$25, 4/$20, and 2/$10 coupons on one transaction… You’ll see I did that with all three on my last transaction and used all but the 5/$25 on the rest (except for the first one where I got a free $20 ECB). I also didn’t realize I could do more than one transaction until I read your post. Thanks so much for sharing!
God bless you and yours,
Amy
Wow, I’m impressed!
Wow! Could you tell me where the MIR for the clear care solution is?? I use that and it’s so expensive.
Thanks!!!
Saph – It was in last Sunday’s paper. However, not all papers have it. I was getting our local paper and I was missing out on all the rebates that my friends from other areas would get. I had to get a bigger paper (and pay an extra quarter) but I am now getting these rebates! (Way worth the extra $0.25).
Just a note- some CVS stores, even some cashiers might not let you use a $4/$20 and a $2/$10 coupon in the same transaction. try it every time, you never know.
I asked CVS for their coupon policy and they said they do not have a formal policy because it changes. which to me means do whatever you want. The lady who emailed me said you couldn’t use two CVS coupons (the $4/$20 and $2/$10) in the same transaction. but if they don’t have a formal coupon policy who is gonna stop you?
It really depends on the cashier.
