A bit late today, I know. It was a Monday to beat all Mondays. To beat them with sticks. Sticks to the shins. That kind of Monday.
We had a fun week last week. It was beautiful weather and there was much chalk. Much, much chalk. Olivia and I drew a river with fish and stepping stones. And she jumped from stone to stone! Big Toddler Gross Motor Achievement!
Benjamin was less about the gross motor achievements and more about the sitting. He’s at the age where he is THRILLED TO PIECES when he finds a seat his size.
Oh, and see that head at his feet? Olivia helped me draw that. That there is a life-size portrait of Benjamin’s head. It’s really that big. And round. Promise.
And here’s the whole Chalk Family. (I’m the one with the pink and purple hair.)
(Benjamin sat in his Face Portrait.)
Since receiving confirmation that we will, indeed, [most likely] be enjoying our normal income, we’ve begun to think about housing for next year. Look! A farm house! On an acre of land! With a clothesline! And a garden! (No central AC, though, can you see that window unit?)
(And no, it’s not a rental.)
And, by the way, Olivia got her first tatoo this past week.

To participate in Meet-and-Greet Monday: Post pictures of someone you’d like to us to “meet” on your blog. It doesn’t have to be someone new each week (obviously – I post of the same two people each week). The idea is that someone new from the blogosphere will happen upon this site each Monday and we can “introduce” ourselves to them. Because this is a friendly place. Also, this is a great excuse to post pictures for the Grandmas.
Just make sure you are linking to your Meet-and-Greet post – NOT your homepage. It just makes life easier that way. Then put a link in your post back to here so that your readers can “meet” someone new today, too! And as always, thanks for keeping it family friendly.
Great pictures…such fun! Oh my goodness, that house is so cute. I am already dreaming of the laundry hanging and the garden growing! Keep us posted. 🙂
Sidewalk chalk saved my life and sanity at one point. Through a particularly rainy, cold winter stretch my son was driving me to distraction when he found the chalk in his art supplies box. It dawned on me I was missing a great indoor activity. Our one car garage was nicely paved and unused due to it being more like a three-fourths car garage. Perfect! The door was just off the kitchen, he could draw as I cooked dinner. There are lovely multi-colored squiggles on the floor still but with the weather so nice, he’s abandoned chalk for his bike.
Perfect sized sits make Ellie happy too. I’m going to get some chalk – I can see that’s a great idea. And purple hair? Well, it’s something to think about…
What a lovely chalk family! The pink hair may just become the newest trend of the Natural Mommy readers! Sure looks like you all had fun. 🙂
and how fun to think about buying! yay! We just moved out of our old farmhouse (and I lived in one most my childhood), so the only advice I have (not like you asked for it or anything – but I was surprised) is to call the utility companies that service the house and ask them what the monthly bills were and what the energy usage was. Sometimes it can be surprising. Ours wasn’t to bad until I stopped working and had a baby! 58 degrees at night wasn’t gonna cut it! (yet we also did not have any heat to the upstairs so we had to run an electric radiant heater 14/7 to keep the peanut warm. It killed us for bills.ugh. Luckily most houses aren’t that bad – and you seem to live in somewhere warmer than crappy ol MI.
Good Luck
the house looks pretty amazing!
What a sweet chalk family! And an adorable house! 🙂
