BABY.
We didn’t find out. Josh decided we should go for surprise. We’ve already had a boy and girl, the only thing we haven’t had, yet, is a surprise.
We have pictures and a video from the ultrasound. It was amazing to watch! He (and I will alternate back and forth between “he” and “she”, so get used to it) was so active. She (hehe) would stretch and roll over and kick and wave her little arms.
When Josh comes home, we’ll scan the pictures in and see if we can also digitalize the VHS tape in some magical fashion so we can share that with you, too.
In the meantime, give us your best boy AND girl names. Our last name is one syllable and starts with the letter ‘Z’. Keep that in mind. So we like:
- Multi-syllabic first names
- Names that don’t end in ‘s’ or ‘th’ (goes weird with the ‘Z’)
- Older, classic names (such as Benjamin and Olivia, hehe).
- Names that don’t top the social security baby name charts.
Have fun! I have to go tend to a screaming toddler now (he’s not the baby anymore!).
You are so very sneaky!!
Esther, and call her Esty for a girl.
Harrison or Colton for a boy
Those were the names we had picked out if we ever had another one 😉

Congrats! I love how you are always so willing to share the naming of your children with your friends. I remember the voting web page for Olivia. 🙂
How about Zoe??? I love it… Zoe Zapf!
I too remember the voting page for Olivia! It was more popular than youtube. Wow, this is tricky. I suppose after a few years I should have matured and not just say Todd and Toddolina. My names are Arthur if a boy and Lucy if a girl. Either way, you should be very excited! **dances**
YAY!!!! a healthy baby!!! congratulations!
Our #4 was a surprise. She turned out to be a girl. I liked the surprise element. Hubby, OTOH, decidedly did NOT. So, #5, a boy, was known from about 18 weeks on. It’s all good.
Names:
Boy
Josiah
Avery
Girl
Amelia
Margaret
Bless you all!
Did you notice that two of the top names for girls and boys are Twilight characters? Coincidence…?
I really like the names Bianca (but since you already have a B…) or Gabriela (Bianca means white and Gabriela means God is my strength). Both could be shortened, if so desired.
For boys, I really like Peter (Rock) or Gregory (watcher).
Congrats Girlie…..so excited I love having 3 kids. My picks for a
Girl – Makenna
Boy -Ethan
Leah- girl
Julia -girl
Nolan-boy
Jack-boy
Honestly, I had way to much fun on that website and will revisit when time allows! Oh, and I’ll be thinking of names for you as well!
We’ve tossed around the idea of naming our kids to match the ethnicity of our last name (Italian)… I’m guessing that your last name is Germanic, so here are a few for fun:
Frederick
Johann
Gregory
Anneliese
Clara
Maria (I highly recommend this one)
For full effect, make his/her middle name “von”. 😀
On a more serious note, there is Jonathan, Nathaniel, Abigail, and Melody.
Good luck with the naming process!
Lucia
Such a pretty name – I like it most pronounced in the Italian way, ‘loocheea’. Saint of light – celebrated with candlelight festivals in Scandinavia.
I’ve always struggled to think of boys names that I really like.
Apart from Isaac – though that might make the whole name sound a bit zeddy.
How about Zechariah, Zephaniah, or Habakkuk for boys or Keturah for a girl? Those are definately older names!
Timothy and Catherine are two names I like which seem to fit your criteria. (Well, they’re not in the top 10 list for the past 100 years, at least.)
Oh dang…I think my last comment had too many links. I was giving you the link to the name meanings for each. Oh well. This list is slightly different.
For boys: Gregory, Simon, Henry, Timothy, and Daniel
For girls: Hannah, Susan (or Susannah), Jeanette (or Jeanetta, Janet, Jane, Janna, Jaina, Janette), Cerisse, Audrey, Carolyn, Kaitlyn, Charissa and Molly.
“Names that don’t top the social security baby name charts.”
So… like Olivia? 🙂
I’m a huge fan of the Anneliese! And of course I’m still rooting for Charlie for a boy. 🙂
I don’t want you to steal any of my names so I won’t suggest them. 😉 Only names I can’t use because they’re in the immediate family. Like Timothy, Daniel, David, Alan. (Blanking on girls’ names. Or reserving ALL of them. Hehe. Too bad you get your pick first. ;-))
You should totally go with RIVER.
Hmm…Choosing a name is serious business! Here’s a few that might fit your criteria:
Evelyn
Caroline
Charlotte
Anthony
Nathaniel
Bubba
Oh, and Margaret
boy- samuel, sterling, tate
girl-charlotte, victoria, scarlet
I like Gabrielle for a girl, but will probably not have my own because then I would have a Libbie and a Gabby and that would not work.
I like Mitchell and Noah for boy names.
Love LOVE Charlotte for a girl…
and Eliza (although I don’t know if that would go with your last name)…
and Mariel
For boys…
Duncan (sounds so cute and smart!)…
Elijah (always a good one)
Congrats on the SURPRISE – it’s so fun to not know what’s coming!!
I’ll give you the names I would use if I was having more (since my sister doesn’t want them!;)
for a boy…Calvin
for a girl…Ruby
i know i just posted on your most recent post, but i’m obsessed w/ baby names right now myself! and we’re also going to let #3 be a surprise! (i wanted the surprise w/ 1 but dh let the cat out of the bag, and w/ #2 we just watned to know since they were so close together). anyway…
