I only have a few pictures for you today, sorry!
Meet my attempt at craftiness:
About the plate:
It was the end of a very long, busy, jam-packed weekend with family and Olivia was in a less-than-perfect mood. Benjamin did his handprint first and we was no trouble at all. Olivia flat out refused to open her hand.
After much threatening and bribing, she finally got her palm painted and promptly closed it again into a tight little fist. Much more threatening and bribing continued until she finally opened it for a split second, during which I immediately smooshed it down onto the plate. There were many tears and much screaming. I’m surprised mall security (yes, it was one of those paint-your-own pottery places in the mall) didn’t come check up on us. But I wasn’t about to have spent the past hour decorating a plate only to have the centerpiece refuse to do her part.
(Looking back on those plates, I can’t believe they took an hour to do. Especially since the middle background was done by the children! But we had to go over everything about 45 times. That must be where the time went.)
About the Kitty Cat:
Benjamin makes the most adorable kitty cat. He loves kitties. When he put that costume on, he fell down to his knees and began crawling around. He crawled right up to my lap, put his paws on my shoulders, snuggled up into my lap, and cuddled like a real live kitty! He loved being petted, too.
About the Tiger:
She kept blowing raspberries when I was trying to take her picture. She’s actually taken to doing that a lot lately. Especially when she’s mad at me and knows that yelling at me will get her in trouble. She blows big, fat raspberries instead. She still gets in trouble.
Add your own picture post below to Mr. Linky! Introduce us to something in your life, I’ve love to meet him/her/it. Link to your picture post, not your homepage; and make sure to link back to The Natural Mommy so your readers can Meet-and-Greet us, too!
Ugh, the blowing raspberries thing is soooo annoying. When done in defiance anyways. Mine does the same thing. When I tell him no he’ll blow one instead of yelling back now. So not funny.
Don’t feel that 45 minutes is a horrendously long time to do those paint-your-own pottery pieces. Any time I’ve ever gone with Hubby or family, we usually spend around three hours there! And we don’t even have any kids! It’s hard not to get totally engrossed in being artistic. I’m sure Olivia and Benjamin will treasure those plates when they’re older.
i hope this isn’t a dumb question.. but is the meet and greet thing an every monday thing, or do i sign mr linky anytime to join? i meant to do tihs but a sick family got in the way of blogging this week!
It’s every Monday! If you want the biggest audience, then put your link in as soon as you see my Meet & Greet is up on Monday. 🙂 See you then!
I love the plates! Are you able to hang them on your wall? Maybe I’ll ask Daniel to take me to a paint-your-own pottery place as a birthday gift, since I’ll be in the States the day after my birthday!!
