Unlike last week, where it was sunny and I had 30 pictures… this week was very, very, very rainy. And so I have a total of maybe four pictures of my kids and only one of those includes a face. So I’ll take this opportunity to introduce you to the new kids’ room.
I actually had reorganized the kids’ room not too long ago (click for pictures!). But after getting everything all settled, we realized there wasn’t as much room as we’d like. So we switched the kids’ room with the toy room, since the toy room was bigger.
You’d think we would have planned ahead and given the kids the bigger room to begin with. But we don’t think ahead. Plus, the smaller room was the one next to our room. And the larger room shared a wall with the neighbors, and we had no clue how loud they would be. And we knew how loud our kids could be…
But we ended up switching them to that room anyway.
Pictures!!
Olivia’s sheets are so bright and fun and colorful. Benjamin’s sheets are not. Why? Because Olivia’s sheets are MY sheets from college. And Benjamin’s sheets are Josh’s. If you know us at all, that will explain everything.
(I LOVE YOU, HONEY!)
(YOU’RE NOT DULL!)
(YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE! PROMISE!)
(You just have boring taste in sheets.)
We finally got a net to hold the stuffed animals:
- Because they get moldy in the closet.
- Because the closets really are too full.
- Because the net nicely hides the electrical box which has a door that doesn’t close.
I had Josh take the closet doors off. I hate detest abhore sliding closet doors. But they stayed on because my preferences didn’t outweigh the inconvenience of taking them off. But when we switched rooms, the only place for the dresser was right in front of the closet. Yay! The doors came off. Now I just need to make a curtain to take their place.
I’m so proud of my bookshelf-organizational-skillz. And look! That big farm book on top with the water damage? I made that.
And now, because I know there are a few of you out there that will weaken and likely pass out completely if I don’t at least show you partial pictures of my babies, here are the few I have:
I broke out the tangrams with Olivia this past week. These were in my third grade box o’ stuff. And she could do them all!
Look! There are no lines to tell her what piece goes where! My little problem-solver… 🙂
And for Benjamin, I took a page out of the “Busy Book for Toddlers” and made a masking tape road system on the toy room floor.
At least I tried to. I ran out of tape. I’ll show you the completed masterpiece later. I have no pictures now. But rest assured: It is awesome.
Oh, and he was building Lego bridges, to those of you who might be confused as to why my boy is playing with a road with Legos instead of cars.
Here’s my one and only face-shot. Benjamin has been refusing to nap in the afternoons every now and then. He still stays in his room and plays, but ends up crashing right before The Daddy gets home. When he came home this particular day, he grabbed the camera and took this shot.
Can you see my pregnant belly? No? Oh well. You can see my pregnant nose. Check out its hugeness.

Hey, B’s diaper looks like it matches your shirt. 🙂 and what a smart O you have!
When I was a kid we kept our stuffed animals in a net in the corner as well. I never knew of anyone else to do that.
I can’t remember how I found your blog now, maybe it was Tammys Recipes?
Anyway, really enjoyed this post. You had me laughing. I love the sheets comparison. Although, my sheets I picked out from college looked about exactly like your husband’s. 🙂
That’s one smart little girl!!
their room looks great! we’re in the process of deciding to stick all our kids in one room and make the other bedroom a playroom. seeing your pics of a nice neat bedroom sans toys everywhere makes me want to start today!
