Pick Your Favorite Baby Girl Name
In the comments, tell me what middle name you’d pick to go with the first name you chose. Feel free to use the above five first names as middle names. We like those names. We want to use them. We also like:
Hope
Marie
Anne
Or give me your own personal favorite that you don’t mind me stealing from you. Keep in mind that our last name starts with a “Z,” is German, and only has one syllable.
Oh wow, without even reading others’ comments, I picked Evelyn Hope, too. And I know your last name.
Partly my vote was selfish, since one of the names on your list, my Josh has mentioned he likes- so, in the unlikely event we ever have a daughter, I don’t want it taken 😛
I would have suggested Julianna Grace, until I read about your last name… that makes it harder.
Instead why not consider Julianna Love Z.
Or a beautiful girl’s name we’ve always had as #2 on our list is Sophia Dei, it loosely means wisdom of God. And has the open vowel sound at the end that you seem to prefer.
I’d go with Julianna Hope! Evelyn must be making a resurgence–I have heard of tons of babies named that recently.

My fave is Julianna Hope. I like Julianna Grace too.
If we had been lucky enough to have a girl my choice was Rhyannon. I also really like Gracelin. We use family names as middle names in my fam so the middle name would have been Drummond even for a girl.
i was going to say evelyn hope as well! and just putting my 2 cents out there i wouldn’t shorten it to evie or eve as tempting as that might be.. i am not an ultra girly girl, but there is something so pretty about old fashioned names! i voted for evelyn, but i also like heidi–certainly not one you hear a lot these days, but i kind of don’t think it “matches” olivia and benjamin’s names either. could be just me??? i would tell you the girl’s name we had picked out for this baby, but it’s going to be our boy name! 😉
i also really like claire as first or middle, tho i realize it might be a bit trendy. but as a mid name i think it goes w/ almost all of the above names. now i’m curious what your boy candidates are!
I think Heidi sounds so pretty with your last name, and fits Olivia’s and Benjamin’s names. Heidi was at the top of my name list for a long time, and I was going to give her the middle name of Elaine. (I actually didn’t like that combination at first, but once I combined the last syllable of Heidi with the first syllable of Elaine, I started really liking how “Heidi Elaine” flowed into each other, like a line of music.)
Oh and just for people who like the middle name Grace… It’s Olivia’s middle name so unusable for this little one!
I like Evelyn Marie – I am somewhat partial to the middle name Marie as it is also mine 🙂
I’m not sure of your last name, but my mom’s maiden name is German and begins with a “Z” (Zinn) and I think Evelyn Marie would go great with that so perhaps it would with yours as well.
Elliana Marie was top for names you have listed. until I read Evelyn Hope. I really like that. I’m not a fan of the middle name Marie cuz it is everyone’s middle name.
but that’s my opinion. he he.

I prefer Evelyn Marie. Evelyn Anne is difficult to say. Too many nnnnn’s! But Evelyn Marie just rolls off the tongue! Yes, that’s my favorite!

However, Heidi Marie sounds good, too. Glad it’s you two who get to decide this one!
I guess I still like Evelyn Marie best. In my opinion, the middle name needs to connect the first and last names nicely. So it’s OK for it to be more common. It isn’t used all the time. The first name is! (Unless you’re in trouble, of course! EVELYN MARIE, you come here this instant…Naw, that won’t ever have to happen!)
We’re still stumped for a girl’s name too but we just heard this one yesterday and LOVE it: Lilyia. Not sure on the spelling but I think Lilyia/Lylia sounds nice with Hope or Marie OR Anne!
Funny story: my husband and his three brothers all have the same middle name. I guess his parents got tired of thinking up boy’s names! 😉 So don’t be afraid to use Grace for a middle name.

Be careful with some names! For instance, in greeting Heidi, “Hi, Heidi!” My personal favorite from the classroom has been, “Do you have a question, Mark?” Just a thought!
I like Elliana Hope. I actually LOVE Evelyn (my grandma’s name), but the only reason I didn’t pick that one is because it is now an up-and-coming-top-the-charts-in-popularity name. Other than that, I LOVE IT!

I like Heidi Marie. Heidi is a name I would like to use, but since my niece’s name is Adelaide (of which Heidi is a nickname), it won’t happen. I think it’s such a sweet, lovely name, and after reading the book Heidi, which is SO good, I liked it even more!

i like elliana. i guess if i had to choose from the middle names you like, i’d choose elliana hope.
you could even shorten it to elle if you liked. my daughter’s middle name is elle(pronounced EL). i love it! in fact, i kind of regret using as a middle name, because i would have liked it even better as a first name in the future. oh well. i LOVE thinking of baby names!
I like Heidi Anne, or Evelyn Marie. My Mom is pregnant with #6, and I so enjoy thinking up names!

i like Evelyn Jane. you could call her Evie for short. i already have three girls, so i have agonized over choosing the perfect names lots. anyhow, i hope that whatever you choose has significance to YOU, and that he/she is a perfect little blessing to all of you. i will be praying for your labor, and the timing too.

so i notice that marie and anne are up for middle names….that covers my mom, melissa, and you…..what about danae!!!!!!!!…you jerk.
Julianna Hope… I love the name Hope. I know too many old ladies who are called Evelyn, otherwise I’d like that name too 🙂

I really love the name Evelyn. My husband and I considered both Evelyn and Eleanor for #3 (she ended up Helen Claire). I am really into old fashioned/traditional names. I saw a suggestion for Claire (obviously I am a little partial to that! lol) as a middle name, maybe Evelyn Claire.
Good Luck! Love your blog!

From your choices I like Heidi Marie Z.
I work for a largely German company and I love some of their names too!….Liesl, Margit, Ingrid, Katja, Katrina, Birgit, Bianca, Sabrina!
🙂 We have an Elianna, very close! Though She’s and Elianna Willa Dorothy (great grandmothers’ names)
So yeah i’m a fan of Elianna.
Though Evelyn Hope seems to be popular on here…though as stated above Heidi i think matches Olivia and Benjamin best… all great names though
I like Julianna, but my husband picked Evelyn. Our daughter’s middle name is Joy, so I think I might stick with the “graces” and give our second daughter the middle name Hope. Marie is pretty, but overused. So is Anne. Although I like Anne enough to do it anyway. And she’ll have a connection to Green Gables someday if she wants to.

I voted for Evelyn because that is what we’ll name our baby (due in late summer) if he/she is a little girl. My grandma’s name was Evelyn and she was a pretty terrific lady. I think Evelyn Hope sounds very sweet too.

LOL Of course you have my favorite girls name on the list too!
Elliana Heidi-
Here’s the name you can steal Vivienne – and even if – that’s {IF} I have another child I’d still use! 😉 Simply because of distance.
Vivienne Elliana- me likes the ring to that! 😉

I voted for Heidi – both Heidi Anne and Heidi Marie sound nice (definitely not Heidi Hope though 🙂 ) It seems like a lot of people who are commenting have kids named Evelyn, or are planning on having an Evelyn. And you’ve always said you preferred uncommon names. So go with Heidi.
I like Evelyn Hope!
Actually, Evelyn Hope sounds beautiful to me, too!
Oh wow, without even reading others’ comments, I picked Evelyn Hope, too. And I know your last name.

I like Arabella Marie. 🙂
just to be tacky, Julie Anne Z. Jaz for nickname????

We always agonize over names, and usually don’t choose one until a couple of days after the birth.
My suggestion for your consideration is Elliana Claire. Elliana means bright light and Claire means bright and clear.
Happy naming! Whatever you choose will be perfect!
I also voted for Evelyn. Such a sweet name! What about Evelyn Heidi Z. ? Evelyn Hope is my favorite of the choices you mentioned.
It seems to me that Anne/Marie are super-common middle names for girls.
I think Heidi sounds so pretty with your last name, and fits Olivia’s and Benjamin’s names. Heidi was at the top of my name list for a long time, and I was going to give her the middle name of Elaine.
