Yes, I know Craft Day was over two days ago.
I was busy.
Here’s how I made the mask.
First I measured Olivia’s face. Because this is for Benjamin, mind you. And their heads are similar.
Then I made paper masks to those measurements. One is the outer mask, one the inner. It’s layered.
Then I traced it onto the fabric (all folded for more symmetry):
Again, I made it pillow-like, just like the crown, so I wouldn’t have to hem it.
Then I traced the inner mask:
And cut it out:
I sewed them together (sewing in elastic in the outer mask) and turned them right-side out:
Pinned them together:
Sewed them together:
And I thought I was done.
(that’s drool)
But after waffling for hours, I finally decided to outline the blue dots with brown, like I did on the cape.
I think I like it better this way? I wish the green part were bigger; you can hardly see it. What do you think?
Oh, and…
Because it would have hurt his feelings if I hadn’t taken his picture.
I definitely like it better all outlined 😀 Good job!

Hi Beth,
This is Lorene, Melissa’s mother. Melissa asked me to send some things for you and I am just now getting to it.
Could you send me your updated address?
And I just wanted to tell you that your children are adorable!
Take care,
L 🙂
The mask & cape are SOO cute. My boys would absolutely go nuts over a gift like this. I showed it to my hubby & he said “you have to make that, it’s perfect”.
There is that fact though that I don’t really sew, but I do have a machine. I might get it out & try to make this because they would love it more than anything.
Thanks for the idea & instructions!
