He is very logically minded. I adore listening to his reasoning and arguments.
He has a fantastic memory. He is always surprising me with details he recalls from the past. They do take awhile to figure out, though, as he refers to everything that happened before today as “last night”.
He watches out for his little brother. He doesn’t want Levi to fall, pick up choking hazards, or ingest any dangerous materials he may have sneaked out of the broken bathroom cupboard.
He desires very strongly to play with his little brother.
He is such a manly boy. There was a time when I was glad to see him succumb to his sisters’ games of dress-up and fingernail polish. Who gets hurt playing that? But now I [try to] enjoy watching his masculinity develop, knowing that he is practicing crucial aspects of his future roles as husband and father.
Such as wrestling with his 11 month old brother. Which he sees as “playing”.
Yet he isn’t all action. He’s a thinker. Hence the logic. I’m going to have so much fun unlocking the knowledge he is silently tucking away.
He loves books. He wants to hear his favorites over and over again. Then, when I am incapable of reading it any more, he will sit and study the pictures. I hope this carries over into a joy for chapter books. I can’t wait to show him the world of Harry Potter!
(Please don’t lecture me on the evils of witchcraft. Let me have my fiction! :-D)
He loves me and he’s not afraid to say it.
Yesterday he told me he loved me just because I drove through a puddle.
I love you too, Mr. B!!

If it helps, growing up in a voodoo rich culture (west africa), being told all magic that comes from God is good (like when Jesus “magicked” the sick) and anything that doesnt come from God isnt helped clarify things in my young mind.
Your son is so sweet. I pray mine will turn out like that (he’s still cooking in the oven 🙂
