Before the race. It was early. It was dark. It was cold. The person behind me is wearing a garbage bag.
Fast forward 3 hours, 40 minutes, and a few seconds:
Approaching the finish line, I knew I didn’t have a lot of time to spare.
If I was going to qualify for Boston, I had to make 3:40:59 or faster.
When I turned the corner and saw the clock, I sprinted.
I knew I had to subtract around 2 minutes 25 seconds. Give or take.
I made 3:40:48.
Here’s the vlog I recorded on the three hour drive back to Illinois that same day.
(Yeah, a three hour drive on the same day as a marathon may lead to muscle stiffness.)
(No, the vlog is not 3 hours long.)

I’m slowly catching up on pictures. :-\ Thank you for being patient. Next up will hopefully be some Fun Fall pictures at a state park. Then maybe some Christmas Tree Cutting Down pictures. Followed by Christmas pictures. And perhaps some Snow Day pictures. If I may be so bold as to organize my life like that.
Have you posted any pictures lately? Can I see? Please?
You are my running hero. I know have no excuse to not run a marathon.
(I was using the I have 3 kids and don’t have time for the training runs excuse!)
(That and this budding business that I’m trying to keep under control! 😉
Rock on sister!
Erin
I just want you to know that I kept this email unread in my inbox for a week because I loved being your hero that much. :-). I’d read it and mark it unread over and over again. Lol.
